~ Canadian Owned & Operated Licensed Hunting & Fishing Outfitter ~
Formally known as Lac Achepabanca Outpost Camps; Blue Walleye Outpost is located right on the shores of beautiful and scenic Lac Achepabanca Quebec
The new owners of BWO Thomas and Nicole purchased the outpost in spring 2022 from the Shea Brothers who had owned the camp for over 10 years.
As this was our first summer at the camp our main goal has been to address some of the much-needed maintenance and repairs and to prepare for our first full season hunt in 2023.
Since there were no hunts in 2020/21 during the covid 19 pandemic We used this season to work with our guides and learn more about our bears likes and dislikes.
Our guides have many years of experience successfully hunting black bears and guiding successful hunters out of Blue Walleye Outpost. Our guides are very knowledgeable about black bears and their habits in this region. They enjoy hunting many species throughout North America, but in May and June their focus is on the black bears that roam the boreal forest of Abitibi-Temiscamingue.
Our guides are enthusiastic about the 2023 spring season.
In their words "We are infested with bears"
The region we hunt is in the heart of Zone 13 East, which continues to have the highest number of bears harvested in Quebec. The extremely high number of bears per square kilometer is a key factor in our hunter's success. Traditionally more than 90% of our hunters have an opportunity to harvest a bear.
Our 3 fully furnished cabins have flushing toilets, running water, bunk beds, propane fridges and cook stoves.
You will need to purchase your fishing/hunting license PRIOR to arrival at camp.
