Planning ahead is important when visiting a remote camp, as there are no nearby stores to pick up forgotten supplies.
Blue Walleye Outpost is located approximately two hours from Senneterre, Quebec, giving you the best of both worlds: a manageable journey to camp followed by a genuine remote wilderness experience.
Getting here is part of what makes the outpost special.
Your trip includes a scenic drive through Northern Quebec’s Boreal Forest before reaching the lake, followed by a one-mile boat ride across Lac Achepabanca to the outpost.
As the shoreline disappears behind you, the outside world begins to fade away.
Then you arrive.
The boats are unloaded, you settle into your cabin, and your wilderness experience begins.
Blue Walleye Outpost is a remote wilderness camp, and the natural, rugged setting is an important part of the experience.
Our cabins have many of the comforts of home, but the property itself is not a paved or level resort environment.
Getting around camp requires walking. Guests will need to walk between the dock, cabins, fish shack, and other areas of the property. The cabins are located above the shoreline, so reaching them from the dock involves walking uphill.
The terrain is natural and can include:
Conditions can change throughout your stay, so guests should be comfortable walking outdoors on natural terrain.
Our camp is best suited to guests who are comfortable with the realities of a remote wilderness environment and walking over natural, uneven terrain.
If you have mobility concerns, difficulty walking on uneven ground, or are unsure whether the property will be suitable for you, please contact us before booking.
We’re happy to explain the terrain, walking distances, access to the cabins, and what you can expect when you arrive.
We want every guest to know exactly what to expect before making the journey. That way, once you arrive, you can settle in, relax, and focus on what you came here for.
Whether you’re planning an unforgettable fishing trip, a hunting adventure, or simply looking for a place to escape the noise and distractions of everyday life, Blue Walleye Outpost offers a chance to slow down and reconnect with the outdoors.
Spend your days on the water or in the bush. Enjoy the evening around camp. Wake up to the sunrise over Lac Achepabanca.
And at the end of the day, come home to a comfortable cabin in the heart of the wilderness.
